In 2017 Parklea launched a new Christmas giving initiative, reallocating their traditional corporate client gift-giving budget and giving this directly to charity.
In a twist, the clients and stakeholders who ordinarily received such gifts from Parklea were instead given the opportunity to vote for their preferred charity to receive the cash donation – choosing from The Salvation Army and local charities 4C’s and Windermere.
Each year these three charities help thousands of families across the Cardinia Shire with financial support, housing, job assistance, counselling, life skills training, and connection to services. All playing a vital role in strengthening the community and providing assistance to those who need it most.
The 4C’s received the most votes with a total of 41.7%, while Windermere followed closely at 37.5%, and the Salvation Army at 20.8%.
Cheryl Daly, General Manager of The 4C’s said: “The 4C’s is managed by over 80 volunteers across various areas in the Cardinia region, all providing youth and family services, crisis housing, referrals and various other emergency relief.”
“Parkela’s generosity over the Christmas period will enable us to touch the lives of so many people in need.”
This campaign was very important to Parklea, as the community is at the heart of everything they do. Whether it’s supporting local community groups, businesses, and charities that are making a difference to the way we live, work, and play.
Jarod Mills, Parklea Sales & Marketing Manager “The Christmas giving program was an excellent way to increase community involvement in the way Parklea gives back.
All three charities do marvellous work helping out those in the Cardinia and Officer community. This was a perfect opportunity to give them our thanks.”Jarod Mills, Parklea Sales & Marketing Manager.
Parklea would like to thank everyone who participated in this giving initiative. Giving is a strong part of Parklea’s identity and will continue to support these charities in the years ahead.
