Parklea is proud to be supporting the 2015 Parklea Pakenham Agricultural & Horticultural Show. Now in its 104th year, the show is an icon of the area’s event calendar.
Yesterday Geoff Young, President of the Parklea Pakenham Agricultural and Horticultural Show, and Catherine Ritchie, the 2014 show ambassador joined Andrew Herbert and Jarod Mills from Parklea to announce the winners of this year’s Rural Ambassador and Junior Rural Ambassador. Our Rural Ambassador is Jess Murphy and the Junior Rural Ambassador is Giorgi Boucher and both are now set to represent the district at the Regional Final later this year.
Parklea is excited to see the community enjoying the traditional Show activities like the Gumboot Throwing Competition, giant pumpkin, and giant vegetable competition, and the photography competition to name a few at this month’s event.
Parklea recognises the Show as a cornerstone event that brings the community together to celebrate the rich farming history of the area and acknowledges the agricultural and horticultural traditions that have existed in the region since its foundation.
Parklea was founded in 1974 by Andrew Facey and aims to create residential and commercial developments that build communities and offer environmentally sustainable futures. Parklea has a wonderful history in Pakenham and Officer and is currently the largest broad acre landholder in the Cardinia Shire.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2015 Parklea Pakenham Agricultural & Horticultural Show next weekend.
